Our Story

We’re Ruth, Kaya and Tia. Introduced through our work in CAMHS inpatient units, we have supported countless young people on their journey towards recovery.

During this time we connected with lots of families who were at breaking point by the time their young person received specialist intervention, with some families waiting up to 2 years for support. Many families feel that if help had come sooner, their young person might never have needed hospital care. Young people tell us the same...earlier support could have stopped things getting worse, and left them feeling like they deserved help rather than ‘not being sick enough.’

During one home visit, Mum, Dad and Brother were able to nip out for food together, something they hadn’t done in over 3 years without support for their daughter at home. This was only possible because their daughter felt so comfortable with us that she suggested it. That’s when we knew our service was truly needed.

Rest to Reset is built on the belief that every young person deserves support, whatever stage their mental health is at, and that families should have someone to lean on. We know your young people are your world, but even parents need some time to breath every so often. That's what eases the emotional burnout, and that's what means you can give your all again. We want to help you to help them.

Meet the Team

At Rest to Reset, our specialist support workers come from diverse backgrounds, bringing loads of experience supporting young people with mental health challenges, including eating disorders, low mood and anxiety, self harm and childhood trauma. Our staff are also very experienced in working with young people who are neurodivergent.

We work closely with families, so you and your young person are involved in every decision around their support.

Your young person's safety comes first. All of our staff are DBS checked, trained to manage risks, and follow national standards for safeguarding, GDPR, and family care to keep every young person protected.

Ruth

Clinical Director

I'm Ruth Jacobs, an Eating Disorder Specialist Nurse with over 10 years’ experience in CAMHS. I’ve dedicated my career to improving care for young people with eating disorders and supporting the professionals and families around them. I was previously the Ward Manager of a specialist eating disorder in-patient unit and later led a Home Intervention Service, providing intensive support to help young people recover at home and avoid hospital admission. Today, I run a national training company that works with paediatric teams across the UK. We equip frontline staff with the skills, confidence, and understanding needed to care for young people with eating disorders safely and effectively. Alongside my training work, I also run support groups for parents and carers—creating a safe space to share, learn, and feel empowered as they navigate their child’s recovery journey.

Tia

My name is Tia, I have a passion for helping others and have worked in healthcare for 18+ years. I started my career in a head injury unit at Chailey Heritage and worked with the rehab team for 7 years with young people. I have worked with a secure mental health ambulance service, gaining experience with all ages and conditions. I have 8 years experience with supporting young people with eating disorders in a specialist inpatient unit. Whilst there I became the regional lead for Safe and Therapeutic Management of Violence and Aggression, before moving onto becoming the Deputy Regional Training Manager for CAMHS services where I led a team of tutors. I teach various children's hospitals how to support young people with neurodiversity and eating disorders, and other healthcare related courses. I work therapeutically, and my aim is to always make the people I work with, and their families feel at ease. I will always adapt my approach to suit your needs.

Kaya

I’m Kaya, a specialist support worker and mental health trainer with a MSc in psychology and over three years of experience working with young people with eating disorders, and a background in various care settings. After completing a Masters in Psychology, I continued my career in a specialist inpatient unit for young people with eating disorders, where I developed invaluable hands-on experience supporting young people through some of their most challenging times. I then moved into a regional training role, delivering CAMHS-focused training to staff across 11 CAMHS and adult inpatient services. Within this role I also provided support for the young people receiving treatment there, including care planning and Positive Behaviour Support plans. I also trained as a tutor for the Safe and Therapeutic Management of Aggression and Violence. Currently, I work across various children’s hospitals, delivering essential training on child and adolescent mental health and neurodiversity awareness. We aim to equip paediatric staff with the knowledge and confidence to care for young people with mental health struggles safely and compassionately.
